IFFI 2017 approaches: Not just biggest international film festival in India but one of the most significant film festival in Asia is entitled to International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which annually held in Goa. Any film aspirant should know that IFFI motivates a large hub of film fraternity across the globe to assimilate for the celebration of cinema. IFFI’s vision is to contribute to the social and cultural venture of various countries as cinema being the medium, promoting companionship and cooperation. In 2016, IFFI held in Goa, inaugurated on 20th November followed by an awards ceremony, awards at the closing ceremony and other integrated events. 47th International Film festival of India 2016, Goa
Last year, IFFI was inaugurated on 20th November in Goa in presence of great personalities like CM of Goa, Laxmi Kant Pareskar, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Venkaiah Naidu and the chief guest of the film festival, director Ramesh Sippy. Most of the performances in the events are choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. The evening was further delighted by various awards, starting from inaugural ceremony awards to closing ceremony awards.

IFFI 2016 Awards
Inaugural Ceremony Awards: At end of the Inaugural ceremony, two special awards are given to the great film persons for their ultimate contribution to Indian cinema as a token of appreciation. S.P. Balasubramaniam was awarded by Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year for their 40,000 songs in his long career. Then, The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to the South Korean filmmaker Im Kwon Taek for his prolong proficient dedication by legendary director Ramesh Sippy.
Closing Ceremony Awards: The highest honor of the IFFI evening ‘The Golden Peacock’ which is referred as Golden Peacock Award for the Best Film, taken home by Iranian Film Daughter directed by Reza Mirkarimi. The Iranian filmmaker was prized by chief guest Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore. Best Director Award gone to Soner Caner and Baris Kaya for their Turkish film Rauf. Then, Farhad Aslani won The Best Actor (Male) Award for the film Daughter. The Best Actor(Female) Award is prized to Elina Vaska for Latvian film Mellow Mud. Special Jury Award and the silver peacock won by South Korean Movie The Throne by Lee Joon-Ik. Further, Mustafa Kara for the Turkish film Col of Kalandar was awarded by the International Council for Film, Television and Audio-visual communication (ICFT) UNESCO Gandhi Award. Another ICFT UNESCO special Mention award went to the Canadian filmmaker Tiffany Hsuig for The Apology. Pepa San Martin, director of the Spanish film Ra Ra achieved Centenary Award for the Best Debut Film of a Director.
